OMR is an acronym for Optical Mark Recognition or Optical Mark Reader. OMR is used for data entry. Earlier, OMR used two forms that were punched cards and paper tape, which used actual holes instead of filling up the bubbles, which we now use in the modern OMR.
When modern OMR came into existence it removed all the bugs and the pencil filled bubble was recognized through the optical mark scanner, which gives assures great accuracy.
Traditionally used technique for checking bulk sheets was very time consuming and was a headache to the institutes. With the advent of modern OMR, institutes that conduct tests on a regular basis have got their workload reduced to zero!
